IF YOU WANT YOUR CHARACTER TO HAVE SPECIAL POWERS, PM ME!!
Basic Rules
1. Anyone under the age of thirteen will not be permitted to join this site. There are no moderaters, and anything can happen.
2. No controlling other characters other than your own. Of course, you can control made up characters (ex: store clerks), but you can not control other roleplayer's characters.
Ex:
Ginny went over and looked at Harry.
"How are you?" she asked.
He blinked at her twice. "Fine. I'm just fine."
You have to allow the person you are role playing with the opportunity to decide what they want to do, not what you want them to do.
3. Please, do not swear too much. Swearing is fine, as long as you keep it to a minimum. Teenagers and adults swear. It's perfectly acceptable. As long as it's not a swear every other word you write.
4. This is pretty much a continuation of the above rule. Do not bully other users. Of course, characters like Harry and Draco will bully each other, but they don't degrade each other. That's just mean and doesn't make it fun for either of the roleplayers.
5. Please understand the Harry Potter world. If you have only seen the movies, I advice you to not to join. If you have only read the books once or twice, it's still probably not a good idea. Please try to have a decent understanding of the world.
6. If you are going to be absent for a period of time (over a month), please let me know in the "Taking a Break" thread and tell me for how long and why. If you don't want to tell me why, that's fine. If you know you won't be on for a very long time (ex: over 3 months), and you have a main character, please give your character up so that someone else can claim them.
7. Only advertise other sites in the designated area.
8. Use proper spelling and grammer when making posts. I will let it go every now and then, but I can't let it go forever. If your posts don't contain proper spelling and grammer, it makes the post look sloppy and amateur.
9. These are examples on how to not write a post:
Ex:
I walked over to the door.
You walked over to the door.
The only acceptable way of writing actions is with your character's name or with s/he.
Ex:
Ginny walked over to the door.
She walked over to the door.
10. No perfect characters. Everyone has flaws.
11. OC's, or original characters, are only allowed to a certain degree. When a dormitory gets full there will be no more OC's for that year in that house. There is a 5 person maximum to the dormitories.
EX:
There are 5 Gryffindor 4th year boys and there are 5 Gryffindor 4th year girls. That year is closed to OC's.
12. Minimum of 2 posts a week unless you have left a message in "Taking a Break."
13. If you decide to quit, you must pm me. It's really annoying having people quit and you not knowing. Trust me. I know.
14. No chat speak. You may only do this in the designated areas.
15. NOTHING MORE THAN SNOGGING UNLESS YOU PM ME AND GET PERMISSION! IF I FIND A THREAD WITH SEXUAL CONTACT ON IT, ALL MEMBERS POSTING WILL BE BANNED FOR A WEEK!
16. Do not beg or ask for House Points. If you do this, you will be docked House Points.
17. No killing off characters or becoming pregnant without my permission. This is just so that things don't become out of hand.
18. Please don't make this boring. Do not make lame posts like, "she walked over to the tree and took a seat, looking around." Try to make your character do something. Even if your character is just observing something, make them think. Just to keep things interesting.
19. If you don't care who enters your thread, either title your thread "Title (Open)" or just "Title." If you want only certain people in the thread, make your title of the thread, "Title (Character 1)" or "Title (Character 1, Character 2, Character 3)" and so on. You can always change the thread's title later. If the thread ends, change the title of the thread to "Title (Closed.)"
20. You can have more than 1 character, but don't be ridiculous with it. Don't create like, 27 characters so that you pretty much rule the forum. Remember, you have to keep all accounts active.
21. No racist or sexist posts or messages.
22. Use double brackets (()) or [[]] or {{}} for out of character speak. Please only use this when necessary, like saying something like, ((Can you make a new thread?)) or ((Does Hermione have brown eyes?)).
23. Use actual sentences, so asterisks. Example, no *Ginny walks over to the door and slams it shut.* You may in places where there is no RP, but please keep it out of the RP threads.
24. The c-box and forum are two different things. That is why roleplaying is not allowed in the cbox, unless you're just kidding around. Any roleplaying in the cbox is just for fun and has nothing to do with the roleplaying in the forum.
25. NO DATING YOURSELF! If you have one boy charrie and one girl, they are not allowed to date! I have allowed it before, but no more!!
26. There are no such thing as emos, preps, goths, punks or anything in HP universe. Don't like it? Leave.
27. You MUST check the Announcements Board regularly or you will miss out on some of the important things!!
Prefects, Head Boy/Girl, Detentions
Prefects: Have the right to give detentions.
Head Boy and Girl: Have the right to take away and reward House Points as well as give detentions.
Detentions: When giving a detention, you give the person a certain date and time and the person that you gave the detention to CAN NOT under any circumstance post anywhere but the Detention board until that date. The minimum amount of time for detention for 15 minutes and the maximum amount of time for detention is 24 hours. Please do not give detentions for the stupidest things.
Teacher's Rules
These are rules & information for the teachers. If you are a student, you can disregard this.
1. If you would like to give a student House Points, don't PM me. Please let me know in the Teacher's Lounge category under "House Points." That way, I can actually add the House Points.
2. Do not tell a student you will give them House Points and then don't. That's stupid.
3. You can give out detentions.
4. You cannot expel students.
5. You must have at least one assignment ready per month posted in the appropriate classroom. The assignment must be either an essay, or you can assign questions.
6. Teachers can have social lives. Just not so much with the students. I don't really know of any student who wants to hang out with their teacher.
Well, that's all I can think of for now. If I think of anything else, I'll add it. If you have any questions, feel free to pm me!
